McCarren Design Group, LLC is committed to using the latest technology for our designs and operations. This includes Building Information Modeling (BIM) which is quickly becoming the new standard in developing construction documents. We are currently in the process of implementing Autodesk’s Revit BIM software. This capability will allow us to model complex geometry that is becoming more common, particularly in residential roof construction. In the near future we will take advantage of this technology in conjunction with our analysis and design software to enable us to design and analyze complex and larger structures.
BIM has been traditionally used on large commercial projects by large A/E firms. This allowed firms to streamline the design process and use the software’s clash detection capabilities to avoid costly errors before a building is built. Smaller A/E firms are beginning to slowly implement BIM into their operations to stay competitive and take advantage of BIM’s capabilities.
